Amidst deteriorating humanitarian conditions, Human Hands Organization for Relief and Sustainable Development (HHO) committed in 2023 to expanding its social protection programs through an integrated intervention. This approach combined urgent food relief with specialized support for the most vulnerable, specifically IDPs and orphans. Our vision is rooted in the principle of "Dignity-Based Response," ensuring aid reaches those entitled to it regardless of geographical or logistical challenges.

Field Response Pillars

I. Food Security and Hunger Alleviation

The organization implemented an emergency food assistance program through two primary channels:

• Food Baskets: Distributing comprehensive baskets containing essential commodities to support the resilience of displaced and affected households.

• Ready-to-Eat Meals: Providing immediate nutritional support in cases of rapid displacement and areas lacking basic cooking facilities.

• Statistical Impact: HHO successfully distributed a total of 962 comprehensive food baskets across various Yemeni governorates, targeting poverty pockets and IDP camps.

II. Orphan Care and Community Protection

HHO dedicated a fundamental portion of its 2023 projects to supporting orphanages, recognizing them as the most vulnerable group, through:

• Securing Nutritional Stability: Fully sponsoring the daily food requirements for several orphanages for consecutive months to ensure stable nutritional status for the children.

• Seasonal and Educational Support: Providing clothing and essential school supplies to ensure children remain in education and to alleviate the psychological and financial burdens on care institutions.

Logistical Support and Supply Chain

To ensure intervention efficiency, the organization enhanced its logistical capabilities. This allowed for overcoming field obstacles and delivering aid at the right time and place, while strictly adhering to quality and food safety standards.
