Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), Human Hands Organization for Relief and Sustainable Development (HHO) prioritizes the provision of safe and affordable drinking water. In 2023, our strategy focused on the "Access Efficiency in Most Vulnerable and Populated Areas" index. This was achieved through integrated projects including well drilling and upgrading existing wells with water pumps and solar energy systems to ensure service continuity with minimal operational costs.
HHO interventions expanded in 2023 to include rural and remote areas in four key governorates, significantly improving the lives of thousands of families:
As one of the most affected regions due to high temperatures and water shortages, HHO implemented a series of interventions in Ad Durayhimi District and Al-Jah:
Ad Durayhimi (Al-Marahib, Markoudah, Al-Fazah, Al-Qabasiyah, and Al-Khidariyah): Supported and rehabilitated 7 water wells, benefiting 1,785 households.
At-Taif Region (Al-Bahadira, Al-Jarwanah, Al-Bukayriyah, and Ad-Dahaniyah): Rehabilitated 8 water wells, securing drinking water for over 1,995 households.
Al-Jah Region (Al-Bukayriyah, Al-Kuwayzi, 90th St, Ghulayfiqah, and Al-Makin): Rehabilitated 6 water wells serving more than 1,820 households.
Al-Qanawis District: Implemented and rehabilitated 2 water wells in (Al-Arjin and Al-Marahil), covering the needs of over 3,800 households.
Bilad Al-Ta'am District: Completed 2 water wells and a livestock watering trough in (Al-Arish and Bani Waqid), benefiting over 1,800 households and preserving livestock as a primary livelihood for residents.
Old City of Sana’a: Constructed a strategic water tank to enhance water storage and access capacity, benefiting over 1,000 households.
In 2023 projects, HHO relied on renewable energy solutions (solar systems) to ensure uninterrupted water pumping despite fuel crises. This approach enhances project sustainability and reduces financial burdens on beneficiary communities. These interventions represent a comprehensive social protection measure, safeguarding families against forced displacement and waterborne diseases.

تعتبر محافظة الحديدة من أكثر المناطق معاناة بسبب درجات الحرارة المرتفعة وشح المياه، وقد نفذت المنظمة فيها سلسلة من التدخلات في مديرية الدريهمي ومنطقة الجاح:
مديرية الدريهمي (المراهيب، مركوضة، الفازة، والقباصية والخذارية): تم دعم وتجهيز وإصلاح 7 آبار مياه، لتستفيد منها 1,785 أسرة.
منطقة الطائف (البهادرة، الجروانة، البكيرية، الدحانية، والمراهيب): تم تأهيل وتجهيز 8 آبار مياه، مما أمن الوصول لمياه الشرب لأكثر من 1,995 أسرة.
منطقة الجاح (البكارية، الكويزي، شارع الـ 90، غليفقة، والمكين): تأهيل 6 آبار مياه لخدمة أكثر من 1,820 أسرة.
مديرية القناوص: تنفيذ وتأهيل بئرين مياه في منطقتي (العرجين والمراحل)، لتسهم في تغطية احتياجات أكثر من 3,800 أسرة من السكان المحليين.
مديرية بلاد الطعام: تم إنجاز بئرين مياه مع حوض مائي مخصص للمواشي في (العريش وبني وقيد)، لخدمة أكثر من 1,800 أسرة، مما ساعد في الحفاظ على الثروة الحيوانية كمصدر دخل أساسي للأهالي.
صنعاء القديمة: إنشاء خزان مياه استراتيجي لتعزيز قدرة الوصول لمياه الشرب وتخزينها، ليستفيد منه أكثر من 1,000 أسرة.
اعتمدت المنظمة في مشاريع عام 2023 على حلول الطاقة المتجددة (المنظومات الشمسية) لضمان عدم توقف ضخ المياه نتيجة أزمات الوقود، مما يعزز من استدامة المشاريع ويقلل الأعباء المالية على المجتمعات المستفيدة. إن هذا التدخل لم يكن مجرد توفير للمياه، بل كان بمثابة حماية اجتماعية شاملة للأسر ضد النزوح القسري والأمراض المرتبطة بالمياه الملوثة.
